Release Note-v26.2

v26.2.0

April 30, 2026

New Features

  • Dynamic Mesh : It is now possible to simulate object motion. It supports three types of motion: Moving Cell Zone, which moves cell zones without mesh deformation; Moving Boundary, which moves boundary surfaces; and Rigid Body Dynamics, which considers the dynamics of rigid bodies and 6 degree of freedom motion.
  • Turbulent Transition model, Langtry-Menter 4 equation model : Supports a RANS-based turbulence model to predict the transition from laminar to turbulent flow.
  • Local Cylindrical Inlet Velocity Boundary Condition : It is now possible to specify axial, radial, and rotational velocities using the Local Cylindrical coordinate system in the Velocity Inlet boundary condition.
  • Temperature Profile Boundary Condition : It is now possible to set the spatial distribution of temperature.
  • Fan Boundary Condition : It is now possible to check and change the flow direction of the fan boundary conditions within the calculation domain.
  • MPI path setting : A path specification feature has been added to use BARAM’s own MPI instead of the system MPI in Linux.

Bug Fixes

  • There was an error where the initial conditions for turbulence were set higher than the input conditions. This error occurred in v26.1 and sometimes affected initial stability, and it has now been fixed.
  • The issue where it did not work properly when initializing pressure values in a specific area has been resolved.
  • There was an issue where Celsius temperature was not displayed in solid regions in Graphics, and this has been fixed.
  • Fixed an error where the y+ value was calculated incorrectly in Graphics.
  • Fixed an error where the Peng-Robinson condition was not working properly.
  • Fixed an error where, when monitoring was added after stopping the calculation, the added data was saved but did not appear in the graph.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when using the SST k-omega model in cases where there is no wall on the boundary surface.
