Analysis not converging
Quote from Yash R on July 8, 2026, 3:28 pmHello there,
As the title says my analysis - which is 2D, Laminar, with very simple geometry - isn't converging. It seems to run fine for almost 2000 cycles and then the residuals start rising and then oscillate about a fixed position. I have attached pictures of my residuals, monitors, geometry (mesh), numerical and boundary conditions. I do have to mention that I only made the Under-Relaxation factors conservative after the first few attempts failed to converge.Any help I can receive would be helpful.
Thanks!

Therefore, it’s normal for the simulation not to converge in steady-state mode. It would be best to run the simulation in transient mode. Please refer to the vortex shedding tutorial at https://baramcfd.org/en/tutorials-en/tutorial-baramflow-en/tutorial-flow-vortexshedding-en/.
